FAQ's

1. What grade levels is this volleyball unit suitable for?

The unit is designed for grades 3 and up. Volleyball is a more difficult sport to learn with younger grades, so it also depends on their natural sporting ability

2. As a teacher I can't do any of the skills myself, is that still ok?

Of course! This is why the unit is here to take you through step by step of what to say, and get the students to demonstrate. There's also demonstrational videos to show you exactly how the skills should be performed, and what to look out for.

3. Can these lessons be taught if my students have never played volleyball before?

Yes. Students are introduced to the fundamental skills step by step through a structured sequence of lessons, games, and activities. The progressive approach helps build confidence and competence, allowing students to develop their skills before applying them in modified games and match play.

4. Is the assessment rubric included?

Yes, there's a clear breakdown of each of the fundamental skills and how to assess them.

5. What makes this volleyball unit different from free lesson plans online?

Online drills are often very complex, and expect the coach to have previous experience and knowledge of volleyball. We've laid it out step by step you, regardless of volleyball experience, to 'print and teach'.
