FAQ's

1. What grade levels is this basketball unit suitable for?

It's designed for grades 3 and up, but still perfectly suitable and adaptable for younger grades too.

2. As a teacher I can't do the skills myself, is that still ok?

Of course! This is why the unit is here to take you through step by step of what to say, and get the students to demonstrate. There's also demonstrational videos to show you exactly how the skills should be performed, and what to look out for.

3. Can these lessons be taught if my students have never played before?

Yes. Students are introduced to the fundamental skills step by step through a structured sequence of lessons, games, and activities. The progressive approach helps build confidence and competence, allowing students to develop their skills before applying them in modified games and match play.

4. Is the assessment rubric included?

Yes, there's a clear breakdown of each of the fundamental skills and how to assess them.

5. What makes this basketball unit different from other free lesson plans online?

Online drills are often very complex, and expect the coach to have previous experience and knowledge of basketball. We've laid it out step by step you, regardless of experience, to 'print and teach'.
